Please keep in mind that Open Plays are run by local players who take personal time to organize paddle systems and provide balls. Holidays, tournaments, and other events can effect the schedule so although it might be listed here as available please note that this is subject to change.

What to Expect

The courts are in great shape and have nice new nets and fencing. It is next to the Skyline so there is lots of noise from the rail passing over and the highway above. It is downwind from a transfer station so it can have a smell. On windy days, games are harder to play due to it’s location at an open park next to a body of water.

Diamond Head Tennis Center Courts

A popular court for those staying in Waikiki.

Schedule: Daily 7:00AM – 2:00PM, Busier times 8:00-10:00AM
Courts: 4 Courts located on tennis courts 8 & 9
Facilities: There are bathrooms available at the main tennis center building. Bring your own chairs as seating can be limited during busier hours.
Level: All levels of players are welcome.

What to Expect

There’s a parking lot available onsite for those who have rented a car but since it’s near Waikiki, you might be able to walk over depending on your hotel location. Since this court is one of the closest to Waikiki they’ll have more transient crowds. There are no set “busy” times so play time can vary from really busy, to not busy at all.

Consider purchasing a portable chair to bring with you if you plan on playing a lot of pickleball. Majority of the courts listed are outdoor with no seating. If there are chairs, they’ll generally be first come, first serve or in the sun. Disclaimer: These are affiliate links that earn commission with no charge to you.
